Last night I went to the Olympic park at Homebush to watch France vs Scotland. It was Caine and I - the ticket was a present for Caine's 20th Birthday. Birthday is in December, but they wouldn't move the game. Caine insists that this just means his birthday celebrations have started and will end in December.
After fighting the rain, it turned out to be a nice night. We started in Scruffy Murphys near Central. The place was packed with beer drinking scots. Lots of kilts, red head wigs and blue paint. Dinner at Superbowl with very good salt and pepper squid and tea drinks with little squishy fruits in them.
Train out to the ground and everyone is in a good mood. We decide to go hard and get four beers each for the game. We actually finished them by half time and got another four. When the game finished, so were we.
The atmosphere was great and we had good seats right on the half way line. Up high, but it was a good view. There were very attractive Scottish, French and Australian women, which also complimented the view.
The game was pretty good, but it ended up one sided, with France winning 51-9. Very dissapointing for the two scots sitting next to us. But they sang all the way through the game. After the game they held up their big banner which said;
"The french go hee-haw hee-haw and eat onions"
We helped them hold it up. I thought it would be funny to show my bum under the banner. I did and as looking ahead and smiling I noticed the police watching me. I quickly pulled them up.
Then we went and watched the after show band, which is gutaired by our old mate Dan Fabian!! It went off and we danced like crazy monkeys.
We got the last train home and we were singing songs all the way. It was great - Waltzing Matilda, Flintstones, Piano Man, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc. Great fun. Then we got out at Central and did more singing and dancing. Quick trip to Scruffy's (back to where we started) danced a bit and went home...
Yeah... What a great night!! Happy Birthday (in December) Caino!!
