Here is how it went...
Thursday night, I was going to have a quiet drink with Simon Nash, but we decided to postpone to a night when he doesn't have to go home so we can drink more. So I end up going to Mei Lin's second farewell (first was on weekend at Commodore and then the old Blueberry's - I think it is called Fluid??). The second farewell is at Mosman hotel and her, Ceals, Rani (briefly due to interview next day), Simone, Dee, Anna, Dan, Sarah and I have our $5 steaks and drink. We keep drinking and end up having 3 rounds of shots including my (bad) invention of vodka midori shots.... hmmm. We straggle home and Mei Lin throws up on the way home - perfect!!
Friday I'm nearly ready for lunch (after early morning meetings hungover) and I get told we have a boozy lunch with our PR agency... So I end up drinking 3 or 4 glasses of wine. Back to work at 4pm (I love marketing) and it is Beer O'clock. Couple of beers. Then back to my place to watch the rugby. More beers, but no fireworks (something about a helicoptor over the harbour bridge...). 11 o'clock Michal and Peter leave for a ferry and I stumble to bed.
Saturday morning and Caine rings me at 7.30 about the bike ride. I get up, shower, and we ride around Narabeen lake for an hour and 15 mins. Good ride. I drop him home, eat some lunch and get some sleep. Because I'm heading to Livid (www.livid.com.au). I wake myself and get going. $100 tickets, you don't want to miss too much. I think I'm going to fall asleep, but Michelle and I get into it straight away. I got into Pacifier, Frenzal Rhomb, Peabody (these guys are funky), Spod (pink...), Living End (still moshing hard at 28!) and finally, the White Stripes - these guys really went off. So very stylish and cool. Rocking hard.
Sunday I have a BBQ planned for some friends (Coopernooks, Kings, Dan and Kim, Caine and Will). But wind forces us inside. Problem was that I hadn't cleaned up from Friday night.... And had no food. And my friend Sal rang from Geneva. I wanted to chat to her, so we did - for an hour. And then I raced around and finished cleaning as the door got knocked on. A great afternoon with young Christopher Cooper stealing all the attention (from me).
By Sunday night I was looking forward to getting back to work.
