Africa And Aid

A good article about the realities of Aid in Africa. It is sort of how most volunteers felt after working there (and feeling bad about doing it).

Whilst playing a childish computer game in the holidays, my dad admonished me for using one foot for accelerator and brake. He uses both feet. Even when driving a REAL car. Huh? He taught me to drive. Well, him and mum.

So I had a spooky night last night. I took the garbage out just before bed and braved it with no light. Even though I waved my hand in front of my face I walked into a big spider web. I went back inside for my torch and returned to find two fat spiders directly in my path. Huge. At least the size of Shelob.

Then at 2am my home phone rang. I woke up but didn't really know what was going on. The phone ring doesn't really sound like a normal phone. And there are two phones so you get a slight echo. So I got up and ran in the darkness and picked up.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello?" I asked again.

The phone hung up.

I thought it was weird but walked back to bed. Then I heard a couple of noises outside. It was on. I was spooked. Things running through my head. Crazy stuff.

Like the guy from Tanzania who scammed and robbed me ringing me up and tracking me down because I published the story.

Or someone trying to find houses where the owners are on holidays so they can rob them?

Yeah, crazy stuff.

I got bored in about 15 minutes and fell back to sleep.

And when I woke in the morning, I found that their was stuff strewn all over the lounge room floor. Yep, it was the mess I'd left doing last minute Christmas wrapping.......

Oh well. Spooky. Strange stranger.

KC and the Sunshine Bear

Saving money on a shot with santa, KC broke through the tights security at the Hornberg Westmarsh to jump on the Myer throne.

Whilst being led away from the scene by police, KC was heard saying "I have no regrets, I'd already finished my shopping. Suckers!!".

The bear was reluctant to comment, only mentioning that it was an honour to be picked from the pack lying on the table and if it wasn't for the stitching holding it's mouth in place it would almost certainly have smiled.

Witnesses described the scene as "Huh, I didn't notice anything".

Someone asked a friend why I was taking a photo of it. The answer... I don't really know. Just coz it's cute.

In ten years time what sort of special parking spots will be required?
