So I went to call Telstra again this morning and noticed they had a little "or Live Chat" option.

So I clicked it, and am currently chatting to Lisa about setting up my new phone line. This chat thing works and she is being really helpful.

Nice work Telecom! Oops, I mean Telstra.

So I'm older now. That's just the way it is I guess. Each minute, each day, each year. Tick tock, tick tock.

10 years ago I was finishing uni and working at Intencity. Hmmmm.

Anyway, I turned 31 to the festive cheers of friends who joined me for gourmet hamburgers and cocktails. A combo only I could pull off.

I had lots of fun with the big glass (see right (thanks Simon and Lee)) and the conch (Thanks Clare).

And a big thanks to those who stayed and cleaned up. :)

I just rang Telstra Business services to ask about putting a new line in and after giving me some talk about daylight savings(?) the polite computer lady said "I'm sorry, we are closed. We welcome your enquiry during the hours of 8.30 and 5 o'clock. Thank you. Beep beep beep beeep." She hung up on me. They didn't even take a message even though they sell voice mail. And no one was on the other side of the phone even though they are a big, 24x7 phone company.

Umm, yeah. No real surprise.

I'm also having a great conversation with my ANZ bank online. I say hello, how are you? and ANZ responds with a form letter. So funny.

A cafe in sydney. The morning after. What a great thing. Sure. I was emotional. Thank you to all at the london tavern for putting up with me. Australia beats uruguay in a penalty shoot out. We are in the world cup. See you in germany.          No respect for the acting uruguay team.

The game was great, great goal, great penalty shoot outs, great that we won.

I thought Uruguay attacked more than I thought they would, I was surprised Recoba went off, especially with penalties looming, we played a better second half, our defense was better, Niell was a star, and we really could of grabbed another goal.

Mark Schwarzer, you are a legend. Kept us in the game and saved twice. I had a feeling Duka was going to miss. But Mark saved the day.

And I know that getting penalties is a part of the game, but I can't respect a team that puts on a show like Uruguay did. It was just too much. That guy who peeked through his hands to see if he had the penalty. Just makes the game look stupid. I know Australia did a bit of it, but the whole rolling around and cyring business is nuts. Referees need to start punishing it. I think if you roll aroundn like that, you must be really hurt, so for safety reasons you should go off the park for a minute.

Anway, nice game Australia. Who's coming to Germany with me?
