Last night I went for some fine dining and wining at Icebergs Restaurant in Bondi as a surprise event for Princess Frances. It was beautiful! Lovely company, lovely views, lovely food, lovely wine...and JSS's excellent valet service was most appreciated.
We were all given specific instructions not to tell Frances, but apparently someone is not so good with secrets and blurted it out in the Maxi Taxi en route! Oh well. Maybe the excitement of the Maxi Taxi was just too much? Post cocktails we were all given princess packs by the present fairy and sported special pink hoop earrings and fake glittery flowers in our hair for the rest of the evening. I took the fall for an unpierced Peachie and wore her pink earrings as well as my own - it was really special, believe you me. Especially when I forgot about them and got a fright when I looked at myself in the mirror in the bathroom.
The only negatives were:
* the waiter calling me sir - how rude! I let him apologise profusely quite a few times before forgiving him;
* the lack of spatchcock - I mean, rrrreally;
* the waiter's UNIRONED white jackets - and this noticed by a girl with a hatred of the press;
* my need to vomit halfway through my litigation exam this morning (black coffee on an empty stomach - I was still full from all the iceberg food! - combined with alcohol consumption the night before does not a good college of knowledge student make);
* a forgotten wallet left on the floor of Iceberg's (not mine thankfully) necessitating early ejection from the Maxi Taxi, and
* a godawful stench of smoked salmon permeating the entire house on my return home (so much so that I couldn't sleep for quite some time and still have every available door and window open at this very moment so I don't gag) due to considerate flatmates eating fish on my evening out.

well indeed there was much entertainment to be had in the Maxi Taxi en route to bondi. somehow, the conversation came to centre on the topic of gender-reassignment surgery and the lessons of Oprah, and the Maxi Taxi driver told us a story of another Maxi Taxi driver who had recently undergone this process. it was an enthralling tale on all fronts, and certainly understandable that in all the excitement someone might forget the iceberg surprise!

I'd forgotten about the non-pressed waiter's uniforms. Glad you are keeping my memory up to date Miss Young.
