So there is the normal Kris Kringle where you draw a name and buy another person a gift. But Kathey taught me a new one and we did it to the joy of much fun. Although I've heard it can cause fights if people don't get what they want...

Anyway, everyone buys a generic $20 gift, and then everyone takes a number. The person with number 1 gets to pick the first present from all on the table and opens it.

Person with number 2 now has the option to take the present that number 1 took, or they can open a new one from the pile. If they take the present from number 1, then number 1 gets to take a new one from the pile and we move onto number 3.

Number three can take a present from number 2 or number 1 or choose from the pile. If they take an already opened present then the person they take from can take from someone else (other than the person who took it from them) or from the pile.

And so on and so on.

Rules;
* You can't take from people who took from you in that round.

Options
* There can be only three 'takes' per round.
* You can make it so that each gift can only be taken once per round.

OK, so I can't stand to have a whinge up on the site so I need to write something nice.

I recently did a course with AGSM and it turned out to not be what I thought it would be when I thought about it before I did it. It was a communications course - and obviously I failed....

To cut a short story shorter, I told them that I wasn't very happy and I expected, let's say X response. I spoke to a senior person there who let me have my rave and then she responded with X + 100.

OK, I'll tell you. They're going to let me do another course of the same type next year.

I was very happy. Very happy.

AGSM really does rock.

And for the record books, Kevin Lane Keller is an amazing teacher and I have a signed copy of his marketing text book. Jealous?

Of all my complaints about Telstra and Optus I have to say that after dealing with iinet for the past couple of months they have proven incompetent and uninterested in customers.

I've been asking them to do one simple thing for more than two months now and they still have not been able to do it. I emailed them last night and an anonymous email came back saying 'We've done it.' But it wasn't done at all. So I sent them a screenshot called "iinet_more_bad_servcie.jpg".

Frustrating.

We are going to try AAPT.

Are there any good ISP's or telcos?

This is so cool. These guys, a lot of them kids use computer games to make movies. Basically they right scripts and then use characters and scenes in computer games to direct them. They control the characters as actors. Really cool.

So when you use a phone you only use one ear? Does that effect how you communicate? It probably effects how you listen, which probably effects how you talk?

Why? Well stuff on the left side of your body is run by the right side of the brain and the stuff on the right side of the body is run by the left side of the brain. Oogga Boogga research suggests that your right side is the creative side and your left side is your analytical side.

So what?

So when you are on the phone and someone is saying, so what should we get Billy for Christmas (topical) you should put the phone to your left ear to get your creative mind.

And when you are on the phone and you are figuring out what phone package to be on, then put the phone to your right ear to tap into your analytical brain.

Yeah?

So that is why when you use Skype with headphones (i.e. both ears) it is a different experience. You get balance.

When we had an event in Arusha, Tanzania, the locals running it would always say 'we need to provide bites'. It means some sort of cake or similar thing to eat with a soda or a chai.

Was the cake doughnut things called Mdazi? I can never remember that one. I think there were several ways of pronouncing it.

I love when people people say "I think I'm 'miss pro-nown-see-ating it". I'm not even sure if it should be "miss-pro-nun-see-ating" but hey, makes me smile anyway.
