Just an addition to my recent post about musical influences. George got me into Kylie Minogues music. I even went to a concert (Jon would be proud). Prior to George's proddings I only liked Kylie's music videos ;~)

Other Musical influences;

* Sesame St - Put down the duck (Ernie and Jazz), 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12....

* Dad and Christian McBride - Red Hot Chilli Peppers - long story that probably only I remember.

* Nathan - for making me sure that I don't like opera singing - sorry Mr Wunderlich.

* Pete White - for getting me into Classical music by lending me some Motzart (beginning with M and ending in zart - "Um.... McBazart?"

Yesterday I went ice skating and they had kareoke as well.

If anyone can guess what song I sang I will give them a years free subscription to this blog.

p.s. not New York, New York.

Dave makes himself some Vegemite on toast to celebrate my departure.

I'm not sure if I have pushed this book on my blog yet, but here goes.

It is a great book for getting a solid but broad view of Africa. Everthing from geology, to animals, to genocide to slavery. Really easy to read and very interesting. Combined with visiting Africa, it has given me some new understandings about the culture and the people.

Can someone please read it before I get home so we can talk about it.

In New York - loving it and want to move here. Went to DC - interesting except for blizzard. Going to Montreal - expected to be even colder....

While I'm here, I wanted to thank the following people for their musical influence over me during my life; * Wayne * Ryan * Rani * Will * Triple J * Mum and Dad (I sang The Carpenters at Kareoke the other night and didn't have to look at the screen....)

Africa: A biography of the continent. Paul Reader

I'm not sure if I have pushed this book on my blog yet, but here goes.

It is a great book for getting a solid but broad view of Africa. Everthing from geology, to animals, to genocide to slavery. Really easy to read and very interesting. Combined with visiting Africa, it has given me some new understandings about the culture and the people.
